About The Grape Escape

The Grape Escape sits right in the middle of a working vineyard in Biddenden, Kent. This compact cottage gives you front-row views of the grapevines and peaceful countryside beyond. It's small but perfectly formed - like that friend who's tiny but somehow fits everything important into their life. The cosy interior makes excellent use of space while the location offers a proper escape from everyday madness.

Set in Kent's gorgeous countryside (officially an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but we didn't need a certificate to tell us that), you're surrounded by footpaths for walks and fresh air. Tenterden is nearby with independent shops worth your time. Several English vineyards dot the landscape - handy when you inevitably drink all the complimentary wine they give you. The Kent and East Sussex coast isn't far either when you fancy a sea breeze.

The accommodation features a ground floor lounge-diner with smart TV and dining table for two, plus a well-equipped kitchen with everything from an induction hob to a Nespresso machine. The bedroom sits on a mezzanine level (accessible by ladder - don't drink too much before bedtime) with a king-size bed and blackout blind for proper lie-ins.

Nearby attractions include Chapel Down Winery (8 miles, 15 minutes), Leeds Castle (15 miles, 25 minutes), Bodiam Castle (12 miles, 20 minutes) and Sissinghurst Castle Garden (6 miles, 12 minutes). Each offers different ways to soak up local history while pretending you're cultured.

The Grape Escape is perfect for couples wanting a romantic break. The secluded garden with wood-fired hot tub is ideal for stargazing with wine glasses in hand. Wine tasting included in your stay means you can pretend to know what "notes of blackberry" actually means. Cheers!
