The Snug at Pickelden Farmhouse Reviews

A lovely and peaceful place. Would rebook in a heartbeat. Loved the wood fired hot tub.
It was a lovely quiet location. The place was warm, clean and has enough to keep us entertained. A hot tub was a great bonus to our short stay and would like to stay there again.

We had a lovely time at the snug, when we arrived the hosts were quick to greet us and recommend places to eat around the area. The place was spotless, and the perfect size for the two of us. We dont really have any negatives about the place, the only thing would be the duvet kept bunching up in the corners so you would end up with just the duvet cover with no duvet in. We would highly recommend this place and will be coming back in the future.
This place is great for a few nights away. Accommodation was clean and the owners had left shortbread and fresh milk which was a lovely extra! Beautiful grounds. Would recommend a trip to the Cave Hotel for dinner one evening less than 20 minutes away.
The directions to the property were spot on, everything was as described and was very relaxing and could disconnect from everything. We weren't able to get along with the TV to put the volume up or the towel heating Inthe bathroom but didn't really bother us. Pretty sure if we asked they would have told us how to handle it tho. Overall we will recommend as we had an amazing time.
No hot water on one of our days after having a lazy morning, be good to know when the timers are set for! Hosts were super friendly and the property was gorgeous, we would definitely stay again!
The place was nice and cosy. I think privacy was my issue. There was a lack of it. I stayed 4 nights with my partner and we arrived late the first night, the next morning l felt the owner was trying to make himself visible to say hello which wasnt necessary. And they also took note that we arrived late the night before..not sure why it mattered to him. They also have their childrensgrandchildren roaming the garden and they have a bench right next to the snug where they sit which again is a lack of privacy because they would sometimes sit there when they know were staying there. The driveway is stone but where you are designated to park there is an awful lot of stones and sometimes your cars tyres would sink and it may be slow getting out of the stones. And its the only place on the driveway with too many stones. A lot of insects too you will wake up with a few spiders on the walls and ceilings. If the privacy was greater I would recommend it.
A relaxing few days at The Snug, a very comfortable snuggly cottage. It is decorated and furnished to a high standard, spotlessly clean and the wood fired hot tub made it extra special. The owners were friendly and accommodating and we only had to ask if we needed anything. Overall this was a perfect break for us, one we would recommend and wish to return to
The snug is a lovely property in a rural area. It is cosy for couples looking for a short peaceful break. We loved the hot tub and Diesel the dog. We met Darron who was very helpful. Guests should note that, as advertised, the bed is double and not king sized. Also the surrounding lanes are really for single traffic and some are not in the best condition. We enjoyed visiting Folkestone and Canterbury.

The aptly named Snug is a cosy little retreat providing a big ol' dose of selfcare! With it's idyllic location and friendly but not overbearing hosts, this place really does have everything you need for a few days of peace and relaxation. If I had to come up with some constructive criticisim, I would recommend adding some information about a few local businesses to the guest instructioninfo pack, such as Bagham Barn and Badgers Hill. I had a lovely stay and would happily return in the future!
Charles
The property is in a lovely position central to Canterbury, Ashford etc. It as a nice outlook with Chilham Square only 10 mins away by car and 30 mins if you walk, a lovely village with nice places to eat. The hot tub is a pleasant bonus. We would to visit again in the future
Jennifer
The Snug was a lovely place to stay for our minimoon just after our wedding. The perfect setting the switch off and relax. The Hot tub was amazing and the icing on the cake. Great distance from the centre of Canterbury, only a short drive for an easy day out. Great facilities meant we could have dinner in the Snug and enjoy the view.
Steven
Lovely break, really enjoyed it. Only little bit of feedback would be the shower panel isn't big enough and when you shower there whole room gets soaked. Minor thing really but easily fixed
Had the loveliest break away, from home to home. The hosts were so helpful whenever we had any questions! Everything else was perfect! 15 minute walk to the station which was only 5 mins into Canterbury centre. Would recommend
Matthew
Amazing place so named right the snug is a perfect getaway from stress the hosts ... Amazing place so named right the snug is a perfect getaway from stress the hosts were on hand for everything definitely going back soon
Sandeep
We absolutely loved the Snug. It was perfect for our mini break. It ticked all the boxes and the hosts were so attentive and also set up the Hot Tub before our arrival. The Snug was everything we needed relaxing, cosy and a mini home away from home. The grounds are also outstanding and lovely to wander around. We will definately be back and reccomend this to our friends and family.
A lovely place to stay with all the home from home things youd need, very clean, well presented and all the mod cons, not a negative thing to say. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful property, beautiful surrounds and amazing hosts
Jessica
Beautiful surroundings, very peaceful. The hot tub didnt get hot at all despite using all of the paper & logs and stuff. There were quite a lot of bugs in the property which is to be expected because of the surroundings but I have a very big phobia of spiders and I was petrified. Quite a lot of spider webs on the ceilings and walls. The decor was lovely, very comfy bed although it was on the small side as my partner is 6ft. I would say that sun loungers are a must especially when the weather was as good as it was for us when we stayed. All in all we had a great time but I do think 400 is a lot of money for what it actually is.
Gorgeous property, in lovely surroundings. River at the bottom with a seat, very peaceful and also very private. The Snug had everything we needed and the owners are only a txt away if you require anything. There are a couple of pubs within a 20 minute walk and lots of walks on the doorstep. The train station is also just a 10 minute walk away which can take you to Canterbury. Hot tub was lovely to come back to. I would 100 recommend this property.
Such a beautiful place to stay, lovely scenery! The snug is fully kitted out to a really high standard and when we arrived it was immaculately clean. Hosts were very friendly and super helpful. The complimentary cookies were a really sweet touch, and the information book was very helpful for cab companies and things to do in the area. A perfect weekend away and we will definitely be coming back.
Relaxing week in a peaceful location, nice outdoor space. Friendly, welcoming hosts but were not intrusive.
Lauren
Stunning location and amazing area. Owners amazing and so helpful. Would recommend to anyone and would go again. Thank you
Briony
Lovely property, finished to a high standard. We enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful weekend at The Snug. The property is very private, yet you have the comfort of knowing the hosts are onsite if needed. We would definitely recommend!
Giovanni
Beautifully kept property in a peaceful area. Lovely and peaceful large garden area to relax in, friendly and helpful owners, inside very clean and modern with a comfortable double bed, would highly recommend.
Rosalinde
Lovely little bolt hole, compact but with everything you need. Top spec equipment but it might be a good idea to have instructions on how to use things more readily to hand had to get owner to instruct me on hob, and then had to google microwave manual. Lovely owners, very helpful, but beware leaving the doors open when evening comes, it becomes bug heaven indoors, I should have anticipated that though. Small constructiveI hope criticism, those chairs are not very comfy for tv watching, and the angle is all wrong to watch from the bed unless that was something else I couldn't work out. Nice to be close to a stream, just sitting by water and trees is very good for the soul.
